The Tiv community worldwide is mourning the sudden loss of Andy Aondonngu Anzah, the President of the Tiv Youth Organization Worldwide, who passed away yesterday after a prolonged battle with illness. The news, though no longer breaking, has sent shockwaves through the ethnic group, prompting deep introspection about loyalty, support, and the treatment of leaders while they are still alive.

In a heartfelt live broadcast, close associate Ukan Kurugh lamented the collective failure that surrounded Anzah’s final days. “The people Andy Aondonngu Anzah worked with failed him, his many bosses out there failed him, the organization he represented and fought for failed him, the Tiv community failed him,” Kurugh stated. He urged the youth and the broader Tiv nation to rethink their values, emphasizing that “a community that abandons its heroes has no future.”

Rest where there is no pain again,” he wrote. Despite the sorrow, Kurugh expressed gratitude for having crossed paths with Anzah—from their school days to the struggle for human dignity and justice.
