Senator Titus Tartenger Zam, representing Benue North-West Senatorial District, has launched a comprehensive empowerment initiative tagged “Zam Cares,” distributing a range of vehicles, motorcycles, and computers to constituents while commissioning a new classroom block to bolster education in the area.
The event, held on Saturday in Wannunne, drew a large turnout of political stakeholders, All Progressives Congress (APC) party leaders, youth groups, and beneficiaries from across the senatorial zone. As part of the programme, vehicles were handed over to zonal and local government APC chairmen, shuttle buses were presented to youth leaders, motorcycles were distributed to ward chairmen, and desktop computers were donated to schools to enhance digital learning and educational outcomes.
Earlier in the day, the senator commissioned a newly constructed classroom block at Ikyough in Mbajir, Tarka Local Government Area. The facility forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen educational infrastructure and provide conducive learning environments for pupils in rural communities.
In his remarks, Senator Zam described the empowerment programme as a gesture of appreciation for the overwhelming support he received from constituents during the 2023 general elections. He reaffirmed his dedication to effective representation and praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for collaborating with the National Assembly to advance citizens’ welfare and national development.
Representing the senator at the occasion, Joseph Terlumun Utsev urged Benue residents to continue supporting President Tinubu, highlighting the administration’s ongoing development projects and policies aimed at improving lives across the country.
George Akume was also commended during the event for his longstanding contributions to agriculture, healthcare delivery, and social welfare initiatives in the state.
Prominent stakeholders, including Mike Aondoaakaa and Beckie Orpin, described Senator Zam as a performing legislator with deep grassroots impact, crediting him for delivering tangible dividends of democracy to his constituents.
Beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the items received, pledging to make good use of the vehicles, motorcycles, and computers to improve their livelihoods, support community transportation needs, and drive local development.
The “Zam Cares” initiative underscores the senator’s focus on combining human capital empowerment with critical infrastructure investments, particularly in education and mobility, as a means of sustaining progress and addressing the practical needs of people in Benue North-West.
