The Prince Moses Terngenge (PMT) Support Group, Makurdi Local Government branch, has conducted a solidarity visit to the Director-General of Radio Benue, reaffirming unwavering support for the DG’s leadership and His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Very Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
The PMT Support Group was warmly received by the DG, whose openness and hospitality reflected his commitment to inclusive leadership and constructive engagement. The cordial atmosphere of the visit provided an opportunity for frank discussions on issues affecting the station and the wider public service.
During the interaction session, the DG narrated concerns about how one of his staff has allegedly been using Mr. Jerry Asom as a tool to distract and undermine his administration. He emphasized that such actions are capable of causing unnecessary tension and diverting attention from the core mandate of public service, which is to serve the people diligently and responsibly.
Reacting to this development, the PMT Support Group expressed concern and called on the general public, especially civil servants, to reflect deeply on the situation. The group posed a critical question: when did receiving a query in the civil service become a crime? According to the group, queries are legitimate administrative tools meant to ensure discipline, accountability, and professionalism, not instruments of victimization.
The support group commended the DG, Radio Benue, for his professionalism, commitment to public enlightenment, and responsible dissemination of information that promotes peace, unity, and development across Benue State. Radio Benue, the group noted, continues to stand as a voice of the people and a pillar of democratic engagement.
The PMT Support Group also expressed profound appreciation to Governor Alia for his people-oriented governance, infrastructural renewal, reforms in public service, and renewed hope across communities in Benue State. The governor’s leadership, the group stated, has restored confidence in governance and demonstrated a sincere commitment to the welfare of the masses.
Reaffirming its mission, the PMT Support Group declared that its priority remains the continuity of good governance in Benue State and pledged to mobilize support across wards and local governments to ensure that Very Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia returns to the People’s House in 2027 to consolidate on the gains already recorded.
The group called on civil servants, media practitioners, and all well-meaning citizens to uphold professionalism, resist distractions, and support leadership that is focused on service, accountability, and the overall progress of Benue State.
