Immediate Changes Announced at Benue State Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs

In a significant administrative shakeup, the Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, has approved a series of immediate changes at the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The adjustments, effective as of today, aim to streamline operations and enhance service delivery across key government sectors.

The newly approved changes include the following:

  • Denen Aondoakaa, the Adviser in charge of the Bureau, has been redeployed to the office of the Chief of Staff, Government House.
  • Barr. Ajinge Saar is set to return to the Ministry of Justice.
  • Derby Amine will move back to the Ministry of Justice.
  • Mrs. Galu has been reassigned to the Accountant General’s office.
  • Shagba Ahura and Rhoda Aboh have both been reinstated as Heads of Service.

In a related development, Mr. Noel Wende has been redeployed from BIPC to the Head of Service position. Additionally, a separate team has been appointed to take over at the Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, with members directed to report to their new offices by 8:00 AM on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. The new appointees include:

  • Terna Ayu – Permanent Secretary
  • Terkura B. Dzwungwe – Director, Accounts and Finance
  • Sule J Liambee – Director, Administration and Supply
  • Esther Osugh – Cashier
  • Uza Christopher Uza – Director, LG Services

All changes are effective immediately, with the new Bureau team instructed to assume their roles promptly. This swift transition underscores the administration’s commitment to efficient governance and responsiveness to the state’s needs.

The announcement was made by Sir Tersoo Kula, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Benue State, highlighting the strategic intent behind these reassignments.
