In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and mutual respect among Nigeria’s political class, the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has extended warm felicitations to the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, as he marks his 63rd birthday today, Tuesday, December 9, 2025.
In a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, mni, Governor Alia described Senator Akpabio as an outstanding politician and leader whose exceptional qualities have significantly elevated the 10th Nigerian Senate. The governor praised the Senate President’s rich political pedigree, highlighting his previous roles as Commissioner, two-term Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, and now the nation’s Number Three citizen.
Governor Alia noted that throughout his illustrious career, Chief Akpabio has consistently demonstrated excellence and left behind enduring legacies in every office he has occupied. He particularly commended the Senate President’s leadership style, which he said has brought stability, focus, and progress to the upper legislative chamber at a time the country needs unified and purposeful lawmaking.
The Benue State Governor concluded his message with prayers for continued divine blessings upon Senator Akpabio and his family, expressing confidence that the Senate President will keep steering the highest legislative arm of government toward greater service to the Nigerian people.
