Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, has made significant moves to strengthen governance by approving new appointments and constituting statutory boards across various commissions. The announcements, detailed in a press release dated today, take immediate effect and reflect the administration’s commitment to sustainable development.
The newly appointed officials include:
- Linda Ene Agada – Special Adviser on MSMEs/Microfinance
- Hon. James Tor – Special Adviser on Politics, Mobilisation & Special Duties
- Dr. Shadrach Ukuma – Director-General, Arts, Culture & Tourism
- Tivlumnun Bulya – Personal Assistant on Benue State House of Assembly Matters
Additionally, the Governor has approved the composition of the Benue State Pension Commission board, chaired by Mbjajwa Zungwega Nicholas, with members including Cmrd. Umaja A. Alloysius, Asen Sambe, the Special Adviser on Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs, the Commissioner for Finance, the Chairman of the Local Government Service Commission, the Head of Service, and the Director-General of the Benue State Planning Commission.
The Benue Investment and Property Company (BIPC) board has also been constituted, with Chief Elizabeth Shuluwa as Chairman, alongside members Andrew Aondofa Chila, Ashi Iortyyom Donald, John Ochonye Oyishoma, the Commissioner for Trade & Industry, the Commissioner for Justice & Attorney General, and representatives from the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture.
Furthermore, the Benue Internal Revenue Service (BIRS) board includes Ande Clement Shianti, Anyam Terzungwe Jeremiah, Elizabeth Onekele, and representatives from the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture as members.
Governor Alia urged the appointees to bring their wealth of experience, commitment, and professionalism to their roles, emphasizing that these appointments are part of his administration’s determination to strengthen governance structures and drive sustainable development. He called on the appointees to view their positions as a call to service, assuring that his administration remains resolute in transforming Benue State for the benefit of all.
