Government Model School Makurdi Condoles Former Acting Executive Secretary Mr. Terungwa Ikyum Over Wife’s Death

Staff of Government Model School Makurdi, led by Principal Dr. Robert Apir (JP) and the President of the Benue State Chapter of ANCOPSS, paid a condolence visit on Monday, December 29, 2025, to former Acting Executive Secretary of the Teaching Service Board (TSB), Mr. Terungwa Ikyum, following the death of his wife, Mrs. Ikyum Mnguember (née Iorkase Mnguember).

The delegation visited Mr. Ikyum at his residence in Akpehe, Makurdi, to commiserate with him over the painful loss. Representing the Principal, Vice Principal Administration Mr. Dosu Daniel expressed deep sympathy on behalf of Dr. Apir and the entire school community, describing the passing of Mrs. Ikyum as a devastating blow not only to her immediate family but to the teaching profession and everyone who knew her.

Mr. Dosu highlighted the late Mrs. Ikyum’s exceptional dedication to public service, selflessness, integrity, and commitment to progress throughout her career. He noted that her last place of work before her appointment at the TSB Headquarters in Makurdi was Government Model School Makurdi, where her contributions left a lasting impact.

The Vice Principal prayed for God to grant the Ikyum family the strength to bear the irreparable loss and for the gentle soul of the deceased to rest in eternal peace.

In response, Mr. Terungwa Ikyum expressed profound gratitude to Dr. Apir, the management, staff of Government Model School Makurdi, and all who joined the visit. He said their kind words and presence provided immense comfort and encouragement during this difficult time, adding that the glowing testimonies about his late wife’s service to the school and humanity would remain a source of lasting consolation.

Among the staff members who attended the condolence visit were Mrs. Abagen Adijat (Chairman Staff Welfare), Comrade Kper Jeptha (State ASUSS PRO aspirant), Princess Aleva Ngumimi (Immediate Past Welfare Chairman), Mrs. Ada Caroline Laadi (from Tofi Memorial College, Gboko), Mr. Ipenyi Emmanuel, Mrs. Gavar Jessica, Mrs. Ogbu Victoria, Mrs. Umase Rachael, Mrs. Iorja Ngufan, Mrs. Dogo Hope, Mrs. Tindi Tina, Mrs. Kulemkwagh Mnena, Mrs. Allam Iember, Mr. Apir Joseph, Mr. Yoo Christopher, Mr. Ukoryol Daniel, Mrs. Kristie Mojukwu, Terna Ngbegha, and many others.
