The Chief Medical Director of Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), Dr. Terungwa Stephen Hwande, on Thursday, February 26, 2026, received a major donation of drugs and medical consumables from the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Bernard Doro.

The items, handed over during a brief ceremony at the hospital premises in Makurdi, are specifically earmarked to support the treatment and care of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) receiving medical attention at BSUTH. The donation forms part of ongoing federal efforts to alleviate the health burden on displaced communities in Benue State, which continues to host one of the highest numbers of IDPs in the country due to persistent insecurity and communal clashes.
