Emmanuel Myam, widely known as Emmywuks, marked a significant milestone in his extraordinary bicycle journey from Nigeria to the United States as he arrived in Liberia on Day 56. Coinciding with Liberia’s Flag Day on August 24th, Emmywuks took a moment to celebrate the nation’s historic day while reflecting on his inspiring cross-continental ride.
In a heartfelt post on his social media page, Real-Emmiwuks, Emmywuks shared his joy and admiration for Liberia’s Flag Day, a celebration marking the adoption of the national flag in 1847—just one month after declaring independence. “Congratulations and Happy Flag Day, Liberia! Today, August 24th, Liberia celebrates its Flag Day, a historic moment when the nation adopted its flag in 1847, just one month after declaring independence,” he wrote. He described the flag as a powerful symbol of freedom, resilience, and the hope of a people who chose their own destiny.
Arriving in Liberia on this symbolic day, Emmywuks expressed how the journey feels like destiny itself. “For me, arriving here on this very day feels like destiny itself. As I pedal across Africa, carrying the dream of Nigeria to the USA on a bicycle, I see Liberia’s flag as a reminder that no journey, no matter how tough, is without meaning,” he noted. Each road, border, and challenge, including his swollen legs, serves as a testament to the shared resilience of Africans.
Emmywuks, who began his ambitious ride to raise awareness and support for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and orphaned children across Africa, was seen proudly holding the Liberian flag in several photos. The images capture him standing on a dusty road, waving the flag with pride alongside the American flag, symbolizing his ultimate destination. “Each swollen leg is a symbol of the resilience we share as Africans,” he added, emphasizing the unity and strength found in the continent’s struggles and triumphs.

Extending his congratulations to Liberia, Emmywuks highlighted the universal significance of the day. “Your flag waves not just for you, but for all of us who believe in a brighter tomorrow,” he said. He expressed hope that the occasion would inspire him to continue his challenging journey and motivate others never to give up on their dreams.
With the hashtags #NIG2USA, #Flagday, #Liberia, #Africa, and #USA, Emmywuks’ message resonated with a call to unity and perseverance. “Together we ride, together we rise. VIVA AFRICA,” he concluded, encapsulating the spirit of his mission.
As Emmywuks pedals forward, his journey continues to inspire millions, blending personal endurance with a powerful humanitarian cause. His stop in Liberia on Flag Day serves as a poignant reminder of the dreams that drive him—and the collective hope that binds Africa together.
