The Aliade market in Gwer East Local Government Area of Benue State continues to serve as a key trading hub for grains, legumes, tubers, and other agricultural commodities in the region. On Monday, January 26, 2026, traders and buyers recorded the following prevailing prices for major farm produce and processed goods, based on a situation report shared by the Benue Market & Advert Hub.
Dry groundnut (with red and green lines) sold between ₦50,000 and ₦55,000 per 50kg sack, reflecting steady demand for the commodity ahead of the planting season. Maize traded at ₦40,000 per 50kg sack (red and black line varieties), while a bag of oranges went for ₦3,000.
White beans (Bagoco variety with green line) fetched ₦60,000 per bag, and soya beans ranged from ₦60,000 to ₦70,000 per 50kg sack (red and black line). Garri was priced at ₦55,000 per 50kg bag (red and yellow line), and melon seeds (Egusi) commanded ₦110,000 per 50kg sack (red and black line).

These prices offer a snapshot of the market dynamics in one of Benue’s busiest rural trading centres. Fluctuations are influenced by seasonal supply, transportation costs, local demand, and broader economic conditions affecting purchasing power in the state. Farmers, traders, and consumers in the area are advised to monitor daily updates for any changes, especially as the dry season progresses and preparations for the next farming cycle intensify.
