Benue State Assembly Approves N100 Billion Loan for Infrastructure Development

The Benue State House of Assembly has granted approval for Executive Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia to obtain a N100 billion loan facility to fund critical infrastructure projects across the state. The decision was made during an emergency sitting on Friday, presided over by Speaker Rt. Hon. Aondoaover Berger Alfred Embergera.

The loan aims to accelerate the completion of vital infrastructure, including roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and other development projects intended to enhance the living standards of Benue residents. While presenting the request, Governor Alia emphasized that the funds would be judiciously utilized to promote economic growth and foster sustainable development across the state’s three senatorial districts.

After deliberations, members of the House unanimously endorsed the loan request, expressing confidence in the governor’s commitment to transparency and prudent financial management. In his closing remarks, Speaker Embergera noted that the decision was made in the best interest of Benue’s people, stressing that infrastructural development remains a top priority for the current administration.
