Benue Links Nigeria Limited has announced an extension of its Christmas transport fare reduction bonanza until Saturday, January 10, 2026, in response to a directive from the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia.
The scheme, which commenced on December 8, 2025, was initially set to conclude on January 2, 2026. The extension aims to alleviate post-festive travel pressures and ensure continued affordable transportation for commuters returning from the yuletide holidays.
General Manager of the company, Comrade Alexander Aondohemba Fanafa KSM MNIM, revealed the development during an appearance on “Road Matter,” a road safety and audience-participatory programme on Radio Benue 95.0 FM in Makurdi. He outlined measures implemented to handle the surge in passenger traffic, assuring listeners that operations had been strengthened to meet demand while maintaining safety and efficiency. Fanafa addressed concerns raised by anchors and callers, describing the festive travel environment as safe and peaceful, and earned praise for the company’s consistent service quality.
In a related highlight on the same day, Comrade Fanafa received the World Kindness Ambassadorial Award from the World Kindness Movement at the company’s Corporate Headquarters in Makurdi.
The honour, presented as part of activities marking the 2025 World Kindness Day celebrated on November 16, 2025, was in collaboration with the Benue State Directorate for Diaspora Linkages and Investments and One Love Nigeria.
Vice Chairman of the World Kindness Movement, Nigeria Office, Amb. Geraldine Yilat Miaphen Nwaonu, commended Fanafa for his outstanding acts of kindness and people-focused leadership. She specifically highlighted his inclusive transport policies, including fare reductions for Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) and the ongoing Christmas slash, as initiatives that have positively touched many lives.
The dual developments underscore Benue Links’ commitment to public welfare and responsive governance under the current administration.
