A Benue State indigene, Musa Yakubu Musa, has embarked on an endurance solidarity bike ride from Keffi in Nasarawa State to Makurdi, the Benue State capital, to express appreciation for what he describes as remarkable progress in governance and service delivery under Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia.

The ride was flagged off on Saturday, March 21, 2026, with Musa aiming to highlight perceived improvements across various sectors in the state. Speaking shortly before setting off, he described the initiative as a personal demonstration of support for the governor’s policies, which he said have delivered “tangible benefits” to ordinary residents.

Musa pointed to regular payment of salaries and pensions, ongoing road infrastructure development, and enhanced water supply in several communities as key areas where positive changes are visible and impactful. “I am motivated by the changes we are seeing,” he stated. “Payment of salaries and pensions has improved, and there are visible efforts in infrastructure and basic services.”

The bike ride, covering several kilometres across state lines, is expected to conclude in Makurdi, where Musa plans to symbolically affirm his endorsement of the administration’s direction. The journey serves as both a personal tribute and a grassroots effort to draw public attention to the strides being made in governance.

During his pre-departure remarks, Musa also commended grassroots politician Haakyav Tombu Peter for his contributions to youth empowerment in the state. He expressed strong support for Tombu Peter’s reported intention to contest the Buruku Federal Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections, describing him as a committed figure deserving of backing from the youth and broader community.

Musa’s solo bike ride has already sparked conversations among residents and online observers, with many viewing it as a creative and physically demanding way to show appreciation for leadership that prioritises welfare, infrastructure, and timely obligations to workers and pensioners.

As the rider makes his way toward Makurdi, the initiative stands as a reminder of how individual acts of solidarity can amplify messages of support and highlight real-life impacts of public policy on citizens in Benue State.
