Lawmakers elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State have declared their intention to deliver at least one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The ambitious pledge was made during a recent gathering of the APC caucus in the state legislature, where party leaders and elected representatives reaffirmed their loyalty to the president and outlined strategies to consolidate support ahead of the next general polls.
Speaking at the event, one of the prominent APC lawmakers emphasized the need for unity, grassroots mobilization, and sustained engagement with constituents to achieve the target. The group highlighted President Tinubu’s ongoing reforms and development initiatives as key reasons why Benue voters should renew their mandate for him in 2027.
Benue State, with its substantial voter population, remains a critical battleground in national elections. The APC lawmakers’ commitment comes against the backdrop of the party’s determination to strengthen its foothold in the Middle Belt region, where competition from opposition parties has historically been intense.
The declaration is seen as an early signal of the APC’s 2027 campaign machinery in Benue, with lawmakers positioning themselves as frontline mobilizers. They expressed confidence that coordinated efforts—ranging from constituency projects to voter education and welfare interventions—would help surpass the one-million-vote benchmark and contribute significantly to the president’s reelection bid.
Political analysts note that delivering such a figure would represent a major improvement for the APC in Benue, where vote shares in previous presidential contests have fluctuated due to local dynamics, security concerns, and shifting alliances. The lawmakers’ public resolve is expected to set the tone for intensified party activities in the state as preparations for 2027 gradually gain momentum.
