The All Progressives Congress (APC) Benue State Chapter, led by Comrade Austin Agada, has issued a scathing rebuke of the Hyacinth Alia administration over its apparent inaction and silence regarding the rising cases of missing persons in the state. The party expressed grave concern over the deteriorating security situation and the government’s lack of response, calling it a matter of life and security.

In a statement released by State Publicity Secretary Daniel Ihomun, the APC highlighted the sudden disappearance of notable citizens, including the Principal Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth and Media Mobilization, Atu Terver, popularly known as Krazy T. These incidents have sparked deep fear and uncertainty among residents, eroding public trust in both the government and security agencies tasked with protecting citizens.

“At a time when families are in anguish and communities are demanding answers, the Alia administration has chosen to maintain silence, offering no reassurance, no update, and no concrete action,” the statement read. “This indifference is unacceptable. Leadership demands proactive response, not silence.”

The APC outlined three key demands:

  1. A strong condemnation of the administration’s insensitivity and inaction over these troubling disappearances.
  2. An urgent call for law enforcement agencies to scale up investigations, trace those missing, and bring those responsible to justice.
  3. A plea for the state government to speak up, act responsibly, and provide credible information to reassure the people that their lives and rights are valued and protected.
