The newly elected leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State carried out an on-site inspection of the ongoing renovation works at the party’s State Secretariat in Makurdi on Wednesday.
Led by the State Chairman, Chief Dr. Benjamin Omale, the visit focused on evaluating the pace of progress, the quality of workmanship, and overall adherence to standards at the facility.
During the inspection, Chief Dr. Omale expressed strong satisfaction with the level of improvements observed so far. He described the upgraded secretariat as a conducive environment that would better support party administration, internal meetings, official engagements, and day-to-day operations. The chairman stressed that the renovation project would significantly enhance the APC’s operational capacity and organizational effectiveness across Benue State.
He specifically commended Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia for his consistent backing, noting that the governor’s support has played a key role in strengthening party structures and ensuring the APC functions efficiently throughout the state. According to Chief Dr. Omale, the initiative represents a strategic move toward consolidating unity, improving functionality, and positioning the party more robustly ahead of future political activities.
Benedict Yawve, the State Publicity Secretary, echoed similar sentiments. He explained that the inspection demonstrates the executives’ firm resolve to deliver a secretariat befitting the party’s stature—one that promotes growth, active member participation, and a welcoming atmosphere for all APC faithful in Benue. Yawve added that the goal is to create a well-equipped space that encourages broader involvement from members across every part of the state.
The renovation works currently underway include structural upgrades, office refurbishments, improved meeting facilities, and other enhancements aimed at modernizing the entire complex. Party insiders view the modernized secretariat not only as a boost to administrative efficiency but also as a powerful, visible symbol of the APC’s organizational strength and renewed vitality in Benue.
Eyewitnesses present at the site described the executives’ visit as a significant morale booster for the construction team. Workers and contractors alike noted that the direct involvement of top party leaders motivated greater focus and commitment to timely, high-quality delivery. One contractor, speaking on condition of anonymity, remarked: “It motivates the team when the leadership shows direct interest in the project. We are committed to delivering a secretariat that matches their expectations.”
The inspection underscores the APC leadership’s determination to invest in infrastructure that supports both efficient governance of the party and the fostering of unity among its members as preparations intensify for upcoming political engagements.
