Fresh eruptions of violence in the protracted Tiv-Jukun communal crisis have plunged communities across Taraba State into renewed fear and devastation, with reports of killings, arson, and mass displacement highlighting deep-rooted tensions over land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority.

The clashes, which have intensified with new incidents recorded between 2024 and 2025, are spreading across multiple local government areas including Wukari, Ibi, Takum, Ussa, Donga, Gassol, and Bali. Thousands of families, predominantly of Tiv origin, have reportedly fled their homes, abandoning farms and livelihoods in the process.
