Fresh eruptions of violence in the protracted Tiv-Jukun communal crisis have plunged communities across Taraba State into renewed fear and devastation, with reports of killings, arson, and mass displacement highlighting deep-rooted tensions over land ownership, political representation, and traditional authority.

Observers emphasize that peace can no longer be deferred, urging all parties to prioritize unity and coexistence in a region long plagued by intermittent conflicts that threaten lives, stability, and agricultural productivity in Nigeria’s North-East. The crisis underscores the need for sustainable solutions to prevent further loss and enable safe returns for the displaced.
