Government Commends GSS Gboko for Excellence, Unveils New Development Projects

Government Secondary School (GSS) Gboko has been recognized as the highest-performing institution among schools assessed under the Benue State Government’s Schools Identification and Takeover Initiative Program. The achievement was highlighted during a visit by the Honourable Commissioner for Education and Knowledge Management, Dr. (Mrs.) Margatet Ijagwu Adanu, represented by Permanent Secretary Mrs. Helen Nambativ Zuamo, on October 2, 2025.

The Commissioner praised the school’s management, staff, and students for meeting required standards, securing government support through the initiative. Program consultant Arch. Gideon Agber revealed that new projects, including infrastructure development and facilities upgrades, will soon commence at GSS Gboko and other identified schools.

The upcoming projects include:
– Perimeter fence
– Modern gates
– Sports facilities
– Administrative blocks
– Hostels

These initiatives aim to enhance education quality and improve the welfare of both staff and students, with completion expected within a year.

During the visit, the Commissioner’s delegation also acknowledged the literary work of Miss Favour China Jiji, a young Benue author. Her book has been recommended for review for possible official support, underscoring the state’s commitment to promoting education and talent development.
