Benue State Government Acquires 1,200 Hectares of Land Opposite Dangote Cement Factory in Gboko

The Benue State Government, through the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC), has taken over 1,200 hectares of land at Mbatyu/Ukpekpe in Mbayion District, Gboko, opposite the Dangote Cement Factory.

The acquisition, carried out for overriding public interest, will be deployed for government business and other strategic engagements aimed at advancing the state’s development objectives. It is in line with powers vested in the state government under the Land Use Act of 1978 and the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended).

In a statement, BIPC warned that the land is now the property of the Benue State Government. Members of the public, private individuals, and corporate organisations have been cautioned against trespassing or carrying out any unauthorised activities on the property. Any occupation, development, or use contrary to the government’s directive will be treated as trespass and dealt with according to the law.

BIPC reiterated its commitment to safeguarding government assets and ensuring that state-owned lands are preserved and utilised for projects that promote economic growth, investment, and the overall development of Benue State. Affected persons and the general public have been advised to steer clear of the land.
