Angry Residents in Makurdi Take Law Into Their Own Hands, Beat Up Man Accused of Torturing Minor House Help

Residents of Makurdi took matters into their own hands on Saturday after a man was accused of severely torturing a minor who worked as his house help.

According to eyewitness accounts shared widely on social media, the community, clearly fed up with the alleged abuse, descended on the suspect and beat him thoroughly before handing him over to officials of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) for proper investigation.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions, with many describing it as a strong message that the people of Makurdi will not tolerate the abuse of children in their community.
